Patreon/SubscribeStar: William Cooper, Behold a Pale Horse

Q.  Hi Lynn,
You’re doing a great job, though these are some trying times, to say the least. I have a question.....what are your thoughts about William Cooper’s book Behold a Pale Horse. I did a blog search and didn’t see anything. I decided to re read and I’m curious what your intuition says about him and his version of the truth is. Thanks!!

Wow! I have not seen that image in quite some time. I picked up that book many moons ago at a local Barnes&Noble bookstore. I believe it is still buried in my closet somewhere.

Anyway, if I recall correctly, the book itself is rambling and disconnected in overall structure. Certainly something no scholar would take seriously.

However, Cooper does bring up a great many interesting ideas and topics which need to be properly addressed by the very scholars who would look down upon the book itself as an amateurish patchwork.

I always had the impression that if Cooper had just took a bit more time to compile his information more logically and professionally it would have been far more respected by others. It was as if he was rushing to get his information out to the public, threw it all together as fast as he could, and pasted a colorful cover on top.

My own personal problem with his presentation, beyond what I just stated, was his Christian fundamentalist variety of spin upon his knowledge. Although I have no problem with Christianity in general, and am glad to know he was within that overall camp, it did seem to my own personal perspective that he tended too much in a certain direction...which distorted the larger picture he was presenting.

Anyhow, just a few thought.

@Cathari: Thanks so much for sharing this. I didn't actually read it and was just tuning into both him and his message. I appreciate your analysis.

Lynn, I found the book, as expected, under a pile of books in my closet.

Just want to offer up a quote which I think sums up Cooper's overall outlook and world-conception:

"I believe with all my heart that God put me in places and in positions throughout my life so that I would be able to deliver this warning to His people. I pray that I have been worthy and that I have done my job. This is my Creed: I believe first in God, the same God in which my ancestors believed. I believe in Jesus Christ and that he is my savior. Second, I believe in the Constitution of the Republic of the United States of America, without interpretation, as it was written and meant to work. I have given my sacred oath TO PROTECT AND DEFEND THE CONSTITUTION OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA AGAINST ALL ENEMIES FOREIGN AND DOMESTIC. I intend to fulfill that oath. Third, I believe in the family unit and, in particular, my family unit. I have sworn that I will give my life, if it is required, in defense of God, the Constitution, or my family. Fourth, I believe that any man without principles that he is ready and willing to die for at any given moment is already dead and is of no use or consequence whatsoever."

Okay, this was the 2nd time that I've had the nudge to read this book - downloaded on Kindle, will get to it as soon as I finish the Gary Renard series & Lynn's book, of course!! ;)

SamV,

Honestly, you are not missing much. It is just a compilation of various documents with brief commentaries by Cooper.

I suppose when it first appeared it had some significance, but today, with the Internet, there really is nothing outstanding to discover.

About the only thing that I still find interesting is his adding Michael Aquino's "Mind War."

Anyway, enjoy it when you get to it.
