I came across an interesting topic, and thought it would be interesting to share. Here goes:
Thanks to the a 1974 ruling that sided with the Rockefellers (1 of the 13 evil lineages), private property graveyards are now 501C exempt on taxes. This means if you have a non-profit burial ground on your property you get a tax break from the IRS.
This made me think, why did we get away from burying people on private property? We see old graveyards all the time at churches, or in random areas, but rarely do people still utilize these locations. They look more like relics that are decades or maybe a century old rather than current day cemeteries. People had simple funerals and always had a family plot or local community grounds, and it stopped.
The industry shifted to enormous graveyards with very expensive plots costing on average $1200. Then you add the funeral service, embalming, casket, vault and tombstone. The cost can exceed upwards of $10,000. Sure, those that are lucky enough to have life insurance can cover it, but what about those that don't? Is that the best use of your money? Some may say yes...but most may think not.
There is a huge market in the funeral industry. It is one of the niches where EVERYONE is a customer at some point. Emotions are high, and everyone wants to do their loved one right. They can help people through very difficult times, and make a tax exemption premium while doing so (at least at the gravesite).
Having said everything above, I realized there is an ulterior motive to huge cemeteries. If people used a country plot of ground or people developed a small part of their rural land for burial grounds, they would get tax exemptions. They do not want you to do this because it is a loophole in the tax code (not to mention makes land grabbing a little more complicated if you have a private cemetery). Did you know that in most states you CAN be buried on your own private property without a casket or vault (it's called a green burial)? We have completely gotten away from this and opted for the commercial sites.
I agree if you live in an apartment or dense housing burying loved ones on private property may not be viable. But, if you live any bit rural, this may be something you are curious about.
We truly are spiritual beings living a human experience. When we transition, we return to the earth. Regardless of where we rest, or have ashes spread, it is our inner being that reunites with the Divine Creator. It is a personal choice of what you want to do, and you may have more choices than you think.
1 Corinthians 15: 42-45 "So it will be with the resurrection of the dead. The body that is sown is perishable, it is raised imperishable; it is sown in dishonor, it is raised in glory; it is sown in weakness, it is raised in power; it is sown a natural body, it is raised a spiritual body."

Lynn

This is amazing info I never knew and it's a shocking explanation for the whole commercial racket of funerals. I vote give your body to a medical school so others can learn.
Now wonder Trump buried Ivana at the golf course, so he could get a tax break.
Thanks for the info Lynn. God bless you.
I am getting cremated, well done for me sir. Scatter the ashes on the old farm. Yeah that is what this old dude is going to do.
@Robert: Honestly, once we are gone, our body is just a shell. Our spirit is long gone.
@RealCousinIT: Lol, that is kind of funny.
@b87..: Thank you. You too!
@Charlie the Tuna: I'm thinking along those lines too!
Thanks for the comments everyone!
