Channeling, Mediumship and Spiritual Attacks

Q.  Hi Lynn, I would love to hear more about your take on channeling, mediumship and spiritual attacks. Do you have any tips on how we can protect ourselves from these attacks? I was taught to surround yourself with light but after reading this post on illuminati referring to illumination (“light)”, now I’m not so sure…..  Thank you.

A. A long time ago during a development class I rejected channeling.  I wasn't sure why, and watched others do it, but I knew something wasn't right.  Allowing yourself to go into a meditative state while another being uses your body sets you up for all kinds of attacks.  Our bodies are our temples and we need to respect and care for them.  How can you trust what entity steps in or what they will do while inside your temple?  It doesn't feel right and we should never relinquish our temple.

1 Corinthians 3:16-17 - Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?

These beings that are around us, good and bad, want to be heard and want nothing more than a chance at a mortal encounter.  No matter how much light you have around you, where there is a will, there is a way, and if you are not fully present and mindful it can be difficult to fight off an attack.  Channeling is in the same category as Ouija Boards in that you open an gateway for something on the other side, except with channeling you use your body itself as the conduit.  It isn't "if" a spiritual attack will happen, it's "when"

Just as I mentioned above, beings are always wanting to be heard.  I've realized that lucifer, the light being and great deceiver can manipulate people through light.  Note the light tunnel upon transitioning is also a trap- light isn't always safe or protective.  We need Jesus on our side.  We've been taught that white light is protective and the light will keep you safe.  Where did this logic come from?  Probably the being that is an angel of light.

2 Corinthians 11:14 And no wonder, for even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light.

When I approach a reading I realize these beings are lurking all around, and even when you surround yourself with light and connect to someone on the other side, you may make a genuine connection or you may be in the midst of lucifer deceiving.  You can get accurate information, but you cannot be guaranteed the source.  Is it from the Divine, or something else?

I now take a very different approach and am grateful God has redirected me before I fell prey to a spiritual attack.  When you work in the light, it is only a matter of time before you have a negative encounter.  I approach every session knowing God is with me and say a prayer for Jesus Christ to guide me and show me the right path to take.  What happens after that is how it is to be.  Nothing more and nothing less.  The experience has been so much better!

I focus on the person and work to guide them.  In the event they want details on a passed loved one, I can sense they are ok to ease someone's mind, but that is as far as I'm willing to go.  I am not open to a dialogue which opens you up for something else...

The devil is clearly walking among us and using these lost souls as his minions.  We have to be more diligent than ever to avoid any attacks on our physical, emotional and spiritual being.

You may be surprised my take on meditating, spirit guides and astral projection too... I will save that for a different post if you are interested.  Please let me know..

If you don't have a Bible, buy one.  If you do have one, dust it off.  There is more truth in there than you know.  Blessings, Lynn

This is a great read Lynn, and makes me wonder if at times when I do automatic writing if one of these darker entities got to me using the automatic writing as a channel to mislead, gaslight me,or get me to distrust my own intuition and discourage me from trying to access my higher self by misleading me. I bet there are a lot more entities attaching themselves to people that create psychosis or worse.
It's so hard to know what to believe these days, which is why we turn to you!

The Spirit of God is always working through Christ in our hearts to manifest his will and the holy spirit's guidance is consistently interacting within all our efforts to consider our walking talking and motivations, I don't see anything else but God and his Son Jesus Christ, and His Holy Spirit as separate from anyone, they are the life force that weaves the universe into a conscious interactive experience. this Devil and his spirits have taken on that part of the dynamic that represents the side of what is understood in our spirit as "Evil" or the space that is a representative of what is against the will of God. When he gave us the tree of good and evil. he directed us to not eat the fruit of said tree. and some may think to say that it was the fruit that was the thing that would ultimately make us bad, or evil. when in fact God made all things to his glory and thr fruit was good for something. and it was the thing that he said that said "dont" eat..that made it bad.
I think you can see what Im saying. in so getting that point try and understand that he loved us enough to give us choice..after all he made us in his image...so understand that the snake had a role in that space..he had already been designated as the representative of all that is and will be disobedience to God. he is the angel that was made to rule that, to cut to the chase here, Many put a great deal of
effort in thinking it we are fighting the devil. If he was a tree and God said to not climb it, or youl get hurt, and when we climb it and fall off and break something, we scream and cry saying the tree did this and that to us..and then want God to chop it down to protect us from it. The reasoning has taken its toll and we have turned things into what they are not. And we scream out that God prove his love to us by choping down the tree. lol we are all thus having a serious sit down discussion about the reasoning that falling off the tree has made us a bit dramatic and we have to remind our selves of what is right about what just happened. so forgivness is held back and we are left to "figure" out how to re align things. but the lesson...see? the lesson from all this? the valuable lesson, oh how glorious it is. our time for the great ah ha..when we grasp the personal ..that very personal place that we and God share..how we hold hands in that dynamic..you know we are eternal right? did you forget? and we are learning yes? very good. we will see this, and know once again.

Thank you for sharing this and the last Bible post you did. I truly enjoy them and feel it resonates with me. I’ve been struggling lately as with where religion falls into knowing about the evils of the world and spirituality. I’m trying to figure out how asking the universe, manifesting, all falls into place with Christianity. What about signs from loved ones who have passed? Is this something that they are really able to do? I see cardinals for my husband grandma, butterflies for my grandma, heart shaped rocks from my dog Winter. Is that real, or are we seeing what we want to see? So hard to re-question everything.

hmmm, quick question. What bible would you recommend as someone that grew up in a catholic church I was always told that there is only one true bible, and that is the "Catholic one, that the rest are edited..." what is your take on that Lynn?

If you want to call upon the name of the creator or Jesus Christ for protection or guidance, then by all means, go ahead. But I urge you all to stay away from Christianity as an organized religion. It is designed to bind you to a state of subjugation and submissiveness, and not to bring you closer to God.

It is true that Christianity has been attacked by the ptw, but that is not because it is more truthful than other belief systems, but because it has worked as a unifying force in society. Remember - "divide and conquer".

Of course there are instances where the dark forces are working through New Age/ Neospiritualism to influence people, but it is important to remember that they have been working through Christianity as well. (Remember the execution of heretics?) Yes, you can open yourself up to psychic attack through psychic practices, but that is because it is a technology, and all technologies can be used for good or bad. If you connect your computer to the Internet, you also open yourself up to harmful hacker-attacks, but the benefits outweigh the risks by far, and I'd say the same is true for spiritual practices, as long as protective measures are taken.

I think the Bible is a tool for manipulating people into subjugation and dependence
, not a source of wisdom. While the Bible gives great advice and inspiration for how to deal with difficult situations, there is no information whatsoever on how to avoid such situations in the first place. The Bible therefore keeps people in a constant state of dependence on Christianity for help with dealing with difficult situations, without ever being able to avoid those situations, because that information is lacking in the Bible.

The Bible and the whole concept of Christianity is very similar to how modern medicine treats most illnesses, trying to reduce the symptoms rather than going to the root issue. (If something bad happens you are supposed to pray for help, rather than trying to find the root issue).

Christianity is built in many ways on pagan seeds of wisdom from religions that predated Christianity, but those seeds are largely kept from the masses and have been removed from scripture. One exception of course is the creation story.

The devil is not necessarily evil. That is thought construct people have made so that they can blame everything on the "devil" and don't have to look inside themselves. How convenient, isn't it? The devil or Satan seeks to tempt people to indulge in all the temptations of the material world, such as lust for vengeance, anger, sexual desires, drugs, alcohol, games and entertainment, etc. He is in a way indirectly a teaching master to teach us to understand and control our own desires and emotions. Only once we have learnt how to master our own mind will we be truly free.

Thanks so much for all the comments. I appreciate all the sharing and very well spoken responses.

@Katie and MsPerezz: Let me make these questions into a post. I think they are great and worth their own highlight. :-)

@Robert Schoen
You should ALWAYS distrust your own intuition as long as the information received has the potential to change your reality if acted upon. If an intuitive impression has the potential to change your reality, and that very reality is tied to subconscious beliefs, your subconscious mind may distort or block that intuitive impression to prevent your reality from changing.

If you are doubtful what the source of your automatic writing is, I would suggest to ask creator almighty to bring you into contact with your guardian angels. Then ask them about the true source of your communication. And when doing so, there is no need to fold your hands or to end with "Amen", all that is just a gimmick by Christians to try to appear as special.

I think it's great Lynn returned to her traditional Christian roots if that is how her intuitive self is inclined to. I know Lynn isn't zealous or dogmatic. All path leads to God/Source/All That Is in one way or the other. However, it is Lynn's 'New Age' approach to various topics that I have found the most value and it is what drew me to her blog in the first place.
