A. With the rise in TikTok users and screen time dedicated to this platform, the Powers That Were are realizing how influential this media stream can be. The good, bad and ugly are all found on this Chinese driven social media.
The Powers know that relations with both Russia and the Chinese are rough, especially with the pivotal moment in which the Petrodollar is dying a slow death. BRICS is also very touchy right now.
This content that is being banned is to insulate the US from Chinese propaganda. Our government wants to control what is spoon-fed to us, and make sure they control the narrative. Basically, the Powers That Were want to control the propaganda that is released to the US.
I see this as more of a proactive measure as we all know how ruthless China can be. China even blocks certain sites from their own people for this very reason.
The authenticity of the internet is slowly dying. Research, go to old books and find printed works. The older the material, the better.

I'm thinking all social media is rigged. Maybe good for checking the social pulse of things or communicating with family,but why not get it from friends and real human contact in person rather than a filter they can manipulate or censor those views they don't like?
Interestingly, Tic Toc is also banned for employees at the Swdish state television. I think it is due to the risk of Chinese spying.

And facebook is the most rigged of all of them. I've seen so many strange and suspicious things on facebook that I've lost count. Everything from likes that suddenly disappear and like-minded facebook-friends who suddenly stop replying for no reason, to more obvious things like groups criticizing the plandemic measures being shut down.

The problem with communicating in real life is that usually there are vast distances inbetween people that make this impossible. Video calls are the best because they are more difficult to fake or alter. But there is still the chance of the call being disrupted and blocked altogether. Simple audio calls are not safe because they are two easy to fake by an imposter.
Thanks for the comment and I agree with both. Social media started as something fun (for people, the CIA was beginning their voluntary data harvest). It is now some communicating with family, but more becoming a "look at me" type of thing. It isn't healthy and creates competition and judgements. "Comparison is the thief of joy" and these platforms can do just that. I see a lot of mental imbalance and problems kids face socially tied to social media.
I also understand what you are saying about human connection. These platforms make it easier to communicate with distant family- I do it for that reason and it works great. You can have things intercepted, but that isn't as common, but possible.
