I was reading that as Stephen Hawking‘s communication deteriorated he adjusted that machine accordingly so he could continue to be heard. At some point it looks like he could no longer move, so is it really still him communicating through the machine via his eyes? How is that possible or were we being deceived and someone else took over maybe to save him some dignity?
If he was really able to communicate in that physical state, that machine and technology would be as huge as a time travel machine, wouldn’t it? Enabling non-communicative people and people stuck in a “locked-in” state to be able to speak would be like a miracle. It feels like everybody is listening to what he is saying and ignoring the fact of what he’s using to say it on!
So was it real? If so how did it work? Thank you,
