Coronovirus Update

Hi everyone! This morning I asked one of my clients who is currently living in Dalian, China how people are doing. Sometimes the news spreads fear versus fact, and wanted to wish him and his family well during this difficult time. He shared quite a bit of information regarding the situation in China, and I asked to share his response.  With his permission, I am passing it to you. Please send love and light as this has become a true concern for those living through this. 💗

"I haven't been closely following the western media reporting on the severity of the virus; however, I've been closely following the media here in China.  I think the western media is not exaggerating the situation. Here in China, for the past month and still ongoing, this Coronavirus is the number one national concern.  Everyone is encouraged to stay home and keep out of contact with others if at all possible. It is now seen as a patriotic thing to stay home. For instance, a few weeks ago, it was the Chinese New Year.  It is the Chinese culture and custom to visit friends and family during the Chinese New Year; however, this time everyone in China stayed home and did not go out visiting.  Everyone is agreeing to this and supporting this action. Almost all state/provincial governments announced one week of delay of work commencement after the Chinese New Year, and even now there are many companies allowing employees to work from home, or not going back to work at all.

Every one in China must wear face mask when he/she goes out of their home, and every residential area property management is controlling the entry and exit of every person in/out of the residential property.  Every person must take a temperature reading entering a residential area. No courier service and no food delivery service is allowed into the residential areas. Starting yesterday, in my residential area, each household is given one entry permit card and is only allowed to go out of the residential area to buy food and stuff one time every two days. My wife started going to her office for work yesterday, and she got a letter from her company to get a permit card from our property management office for herself to go to work every day. Also, anyone going into a province/state from another province/state (for example, if I were to go to Shanghai now from Dalian), is required to stay home for at least 14 days as a quarantine to make sure he/she doesn't carry this virus, before going out to interact with others.

Above is just a simple description of how it is here now, I hope it helps paint some kind of a picture for you. It is the hottest topic now here. I think most people know that this Coronavirus might not be deadly (i.e. not as deadly as the SARS in 2003), however it is highly contagious, so every one here is trying to stay home as much as possible. People here say that we can contribute to the country by staying home during this time.

Please feel free to share what I provide as you see fit.  According to statistics from WHO and CNN reporting today, total accumulated death toll of Coronavirus is about 1000, with only 1 or two outside China. Many aspects of living, businesses, work, etc. are affected, however people here are trying our best to do what we can to offer support and help. Medical resources on many levels seem to be a real pressing concern at this time."
