doTERRA: Learning Moment, Peppermint

Peppermint essential oil is a hybrid of watermint and spearmint. You can smell that dōTERRA Peppermint essential oil has a high menthol content which shows it of the highest quality. Peppermint is frequently used in toothpaste and chewing gum for oral hygiene.  It also helps alleviate occasional stomach upset and promotes healthy respiratory function when taken internally.

USES
• Use a drop of Peppermint with Lemon in water for a healthy, refreshing mouth rinse.
• Take one to two drops in a Veggie Capsule to help alleviate occasional stomach upset.
• Add a drop to your favorite smoothie recipe for a refreshing twist.
• Place one drop in palm of hand with one drop Wild Orange and one drop Frankincense and inhale for a midday pick-me-up.
• I use this for headaches / stuffy noses (putting a drop on the back of your neck and temples), and upset stomachs (putting a few drops right on your stomach) *keep away from eyes

DIRECTIONS FOR USE
Diffusion: Use three to four drops in the diffuser of choice.
Internal use: Dilute one drop in 4 fl. oz. of liquid.
Topical use: Apply one to two drops to desired area. Dilute with a carrier oil to minimize any skin sensitivity. See additional precautions below.
(CAUTIONS Possible skin sensitivity. Keep out of reach of children.)

I really love the peppermint oil because it always seems to energize me, even when I feel exhausted. It was also used in the past to soothe mosquito bites so it must have very useful properties. A few drops of peppermint oil in water really is great!
