It is my impression that they really don't have a platform, so they are starting a tit-for-tat type of thing for a reaction and attention. They also wanted a catchy phrase that the Non-Player-Charact*** could repeat over, and over, and over again without ever really knowing what they are saying or why they are saying it.
Let's take this a step further. What is "weird" exactly? The definition of weird as I've understood it for almost five decades is "very strange and unusual, unexpected or not natural." - Cambridge Dictionary
You also have to realize that in our opposite world and a world where terms are changed or created to fit narratives, we need to look at the full context of a situation. Apparently Kamala first directed this comment toward Vance’s remarks on aborti*n and JD's previous comment that political leaders who didn’t have biological children “don’t really have a direct stake” in the country. That may be a strong opinion, but definitely not "weird" as defined.

It's important to understand the marketing psychology aimed at political "Tribes" in which Democrats identify as progressive, tolerant of diversity to the point they now regard Catholics and other church goers as intolerant enemies. Interestingly, on the new US quarter coin, Washington's profile is reversed so that now he looks away from the motto "In God we trust."
So putting down families and those who have kids as selfish or creepy, as they call Vance, forgetting he's married to a woman of Indian descent with three children. With a turkey candidate like Kamala, they are desperate and can only go the Hate Trump route that's problematic because of the shooting which might reveal THEIR side was involved in its planning and execution.
I think the whole world is weird right now. We should just normalize the word and use it every chance we get to one up them at their own game. Such as, it’s weird that Joe Biden looks different in every photo op. It’s weird that Kamala is an anchor baby.
It’s weird that the democrats don’t have any morals and values. Get my drift…
