Q. I'd like to request a TINY favor. I would like to say that encounters of the Supernatural kind in South-East Asia are very unique from most Western countries. Black magic and paranormal encounters are something that many of us here deal with on a daily basis. The lands are ancient and often bloodied by our colonial past.
One entity in particular has captured our imagination for a hundred years. The Pontianak. It is a female banshee unique to our region, often described as having abnormally long hair, in a white gown, capable of flight. It is also known as a child stealer. There are tales where pregnant omen are susceptible to this creature. You can enter any village in Malaysia and you will hear encounters of this thing. Also known for it's wicked laughter, ominous presence and vile temperament.
This creature is so feared that we do not speak of its name, fearing that calling its name will alert her. We call it Miss P or "Kakak" (sister in Malaysia language) as aliases.
So what the heck are these things? Where do they come from? Were they originally human? Are these things inherently malicious? How do we protect ourselves from it? Why do they seem to be native to South East Asia?
This information would aid us in dealing with unwitting confrontations with this spirit.
A. It see this thing being a demon. This looks to be a very old, and very strong demon that has thrived on the history, bloodshed and occult practices that have occurred all over this region. I see some of the darker arts (magic) originated and has been practiced in this part of the world, so this entity frequents this area more so than other areas. Due to the uptick of new thought (versus Godly religion), manifestation techniques and other non-biblical actions she is quite able and potentially drawn to visit other parts of the world, but for now her influence and need for evil is fulfilled where she is. Demons are scared of God, and will go to areas where they aren't as challenged.
Like many demons they seek innocence and love the naivety of children. Why do you think the demons of the world thrive on rituals of children's blood, exploit the innocence of children's sexuality and the consumption of adren-o-ch-rome? It is because the devil is upon us and has whispered in the ears of people in a nefarious way. These manipulated people were tricked by the devil to think if they did this rituals or performed these heinous acts, they would align and be as powerful as the devil himself.
Quite simply these are demons straight from hell. They were not human, they were spawns of the devil. They were born to be malicious within Satan's army, and will remain malicious. This part of the world needs a massive Deliverance to be free. God is the only force that can defeat such a entity as this. I would incorporate prayer a FORCEFULLY command the demon to be bound and rebuked. Incorporate the safety and protection of the blood of Jesus Christ to surround your home and create a safe space.
This isn't something to play with, but keeping love in your heart and an actively used bible on your table will do a lot in protecting your home.
Blessings,
Lynn

Someone has to tip Josh Gates about this. Sounds like good "Destination Truth" material, although the show is no longer airing.
I wonder what religion the people there practice? It would help if they collectively ask for protection and not feed it with fear.
Residing in Malaysia, I acknowledge that Islam stands as the prevailing religion, while personally following the Buddhist faith. Despite this, the general perception among many remains that these entities are mere characters in local folklore and superstitions. However, for those who've encountered them, the encounters are undeniably real and often terrifying. Prayers serve as a shield against these beings, yet in more dire circumstances, individuals may seek the aid of a shaman or specialized religious figures well-versed in esoteric arts to expel these entities.
There are also portals in these regions that connect to a parallel reality of a higher density. The locals call beings that reside in these planes of reality 'Orang Bunian'. 'Gerbang Bunian', or the Gateway, manifests across the globe. The orang bunian are the Irish equivalent of Tuatha Dé Danann. Stories passed down from my mum's grandmother narrated celestial entities in China, visiting those of pure hearts nestled within wooded sanctuaries, imparting gifts. There were tales of individuals drawn to follow these entities, vanishing without a trace. So these stories were passed down by the plenty, when times were simpler. When humans were more trusted.

How do you as a buddhist protect yourself against evil? A christian would pray but as a buddhist you don't believe in a God the same way christians do, or do you?
@The enlightened one. I have to quote Ibn Arabi, the Islamic poet & mystic. “If it had not been for this love, the universe would not have appeared in its source. Its movement from non-existence to existence is the movement of the love of the One who brings into existence for this purpose. The universe also loves to witness itself in existence as it was witnessed in immutability. Thus by every aspect, the movement from immutable non-existence to the existence of the sources is a movement of love, both in respect of Allah and in respect to itself.” If we know where to look, the Dao or The Way can be found in all religion, all practices. But to me, Buddha's teachings anchor's oneself to Awareness. In Mahayana Buddhism, we can invoke deities, which is an aspect of God. But also recognize the formlessness behind it. A story I recall by memory:- One day, a stranger asked a Tibetan monk "Does the Tibetan Goddess Green Tara exist?". The monk takes a deep breath closed his eyes for a short while and then said, "She says she doesn't exist".

Thanks for sharing! Never heard of that poet and mystic before. Would you say that quote represents how buddhists view God?
What aspects of God are there according to Mahayana buddhism and how are they invoked? Do you ever visit a temple as part of the practicing of your religion?
Gosh this was really interesting. Thanks so much for sharing. I appreciate you all taking time explain all this.
