A. It is partially a distraction, but this is how it played out in my intuitive mind. 
Picture this...
Say you have a crooked administration and it is in cahoots with various other countries. These countries don't have our best interest at heart, but who cares? It is all about the money, right?
They participate in scandalous activity, even something so scandalous as to sell a F-35 fighter because the country they are dealing with wants one. They cannot just pull the plane from inventory and sell it, you have to obfuscate it's existence. They create a scenario to take it on a ride or training mission, have a "malfunction" leaving it untraceable and land the plane. The pilot then "ejects" himself out of the cockpit and walks out the exit door.
Once out of eye shot the buyer's crew flies the plane out to their homeland with all tracking mechanisms disabled.
The only distraction here is the "debris field" that was set up to put closure on the story. Without a "crash site" the narrative is difficult to continue. Now they have talking points for the alt left to repeat when a free thinker questions all the oddity that surrounded this "malfunction."
Voila- Sherlock, we solved the case! I think many people underestimate the amount of evil that rules this world. The devil really is at our doorstep.
Now is the time to pray and get right with God. It is never too late.

The level of evil is unbelievable but yet, we should have learned by now that it is ongoing…..I mean Hawaii as in the latest. That plane will be used to attack us to start another war, I am sure….Ugh…
our military was supposed to protect us against innternal and extrenal enemies, this is so sad and disapointing
Now you know why we left 80 billion in arms and vehicles oh and a pallet of cash.
