The above inspired today's post. Just last night I was having a conversation regarding this. I was compelled to share the above and the agenda behind some of our current beliefs.
Walking barefoot is THE BEST way to ground yourself with the earth. When you ground you sync vibrations and it creates an overall sense of wellness. It is free and has profound results. We have been duped by marketing to have fancy shoes that support your arch, ankles, knees, etc. In some scenarios that is needed, but most everyone can walk or even sit for a few moments each day with their feet planted in the ground. These fancy shoes serve to insulate you and keep you from truly grounding.
Our feet are gateways for energy exchanges. Even during Reiki Sessions the energy exits through the feet. The feet are powerful conductors and all processes of the body unite and interact through the bottom of the feet- this is why Foot Reflexology is so powerful. It is no coincidence that the bottom of the foot is called a "sole." It is the grounding rod for the "soul."
Fancy footwear and a stigma created about dirty feet has bridged us away from one of the most powerful healings out there. This is a secret they don't want you to know. There is no money in telling someone to simply put their feet on the ground. However, there is LOTS of money in fancy shoes that keep you heavy insulted and prevent simple healing.
Walking barefoot in your yard or park poses very little risk of anything. If you have some concern, grab a chair or blanket and just sit with your feet on the ground. If you really feel unclean afterwards, wash your feet. Don't deny yourself the healing that Gaia has to offer.
And that is all I have for this reading. Thank you. Love and light, Lynn

Love this read, Lynn. A lot of people's physical and mental health issues stem from not being grounded, and rubber soles as opposed to leather on shoes is a big culprit. I always thought if you drilled holes and put a few copper rivets in bottoms of tennis shoes that would be a great idea, but nothing beats barefoot. I suspect when you jog even in tennis shoes you are still getting grounded, but you can also do meditative visualizations of having your feet and root chakra growing roots into the ground and connecting to a large glowing rose quartz.
I live in a rural area of Pennsylvania and the Amish and Mennonite’s are always barefoot, especially the kids. We shop at there farms on Saturday and I have yet to see anyone wear shoes.
Growing up as a child in the Caribbean - I never wore shoes once I was outdoors playing (which I did a lot). So many spiritual practices I am aware of now, I practiced as a child (maybe an old soul). I sat and played in the sun, gazed at sun, play in rain, hang around plants & animals, pick and eat fruits, etc. When I think of my childhood - I feel so happy. I moved ti NY and that magically disappeared. I strayed so much from nature. I need ti visit the Caribbean to regroup, reenergize and ground myself!
I will certainly practice this for my ailments...thank you for this share !!!!
@Robert: So true. My husband had that type of idea for a shoe too! Imagery is great, but nothing beat feet in the grass. ;-)
@RealCousinT: I live very close to a community too. You are totally right. They have it figured out!
@Truth and Light: I think a visit would be invigorating. :-) It is easy to get caught up in life and forget what is simple.
@margaret: You are most welcome! :-)
Saltwater, preferably ocean water, if accessible, is also very grounding.
Lynn, as a Reiki Master I am sure you know this... But water (i.e. washing hands) is used after treatment or attunement to ground the energy!! We do the same in treating animals with Reiki... give dogs/cats etc. a bowl of water afterward disconnects and seals.
That's why taking a shower can feel so regenerating and refreshing, especially after a rough day!!
@Robert, that's one of my favorite meditations I learned in Reiki... the "I am a tree and my roots grow from my feet deep into the earth!!"
@Amelia: Yes, you are right.. in fact I put a bowl of water under the reiki table at the feet.
I agree 100%. But not all forms of grounding are the same. Walking barefoot stimulates the different parts of the ethereal body that the toes and parts of the foot are connected to. You could say this is a form of acupressure. But laying naked on the ground in the sun has a different effect, where the sun and the ground acts like positive and negative terminal in a battery and charges your body and it's chakras. Grounding in the night has a different, more spiritual effect and increases your vibration and sensitivity. In fact, I regularly spend the night in the forest, sleeping naked directly on the ground, if the temperature allows. Grounding by swimming in natural bodies of water can be healing or harmful depending on the qualities of the water. Sometimes I intuitively feel a reluctance to enter some natural bodies of water. Especially bog eyes (open pools of water in the middle of bogs) have been considered as healing to bath in, and as portals to other dimensions, according to European folklore. Personally, I love the feeling of sinking deep into the soft mud at the edge of a bog eye where the water is shallow, only to swim out to the bottomless depths of it's middle. All the while accompanied by dragonflies and water lilies shifting in color from pearl white to golden yellow. And the fresh, sweet scent of bog-myrtle and bog-rosemary permeates the air, creating a serene, otherworldly atmosphere.
Thank You Lynn!
I should add (although it's a chapter all by itself), that sungazing has many benefits as well, especially if done barefeet, while grounding. (Be sure to do it at sunset in the beginning, when the sun is weaker!) According to it's practitioners, it activates the pineal gland and relieves you of the need for physical sustenance (food). We humans are spiritual beings and I truly believe the human body can adapt to sustain itself from the sunlight and Earth energies alone.
Then there is the frequency-boosting alchemic power of urine, but that is also a chapter all by itself. In Christianity, the Book of Proverbs (5:15) suggests to "..drink water from your own cistern, flowing water from your own well”. In the 5000 years old Hindu text "Damar Tantra" in the vedas, the practice is called "Shivambu Kalpa Vidhi". Among other things it says that " One who has continued the practice for ten years can fly through the air without effort." And if a person continues drinking his own urine for twelve years, it says that " He cannot be consumed by fire, and can float on water just like wood." But you need to follow very specific rules in order to gain the benefits, as described in the Damar Tantra.
Just wanted to share: A NJ based health practitioner uses a Plasma Med Bed (that´s how she calls it) to treat cancer patients without radiation/chemo therapies. Maybe one can look at it with somebody who understands the technical parts and build one for him/her-self. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=prOC8bYFAOo (short presentation) (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kN70uP5tB1Y interview)
Thanks so much for the comments! Great thoughts to think on! Interesting about the urine- I have heard theories on this, but not sure I'm ready to go that far yet. I will stick with barefoot walking first, lol.
Sometimes I feel bad stepping on the grass in my house n parks. I hope they don't feel much pain.. N thank them for grounding me.
@theEnlightenedone, thanks for sharing these ideas, many of which I've never heard of before. Sadly the sun where I live closer to the equator is blow torch white instead of the egg yolk yellow of my youth, but I'll try looking it at barefoot sunset.
