When I tuned into this substance I get it was some form of AI substance that is looking for a host. It has some element of magnetic capability and can only bond to a specific frequency. It looks to morph and bend through the atmosphere looking for this host. After it makes the bond it looks like the AI infuses and can be controlled or reprogrammed remotely.
I don't see that this is currently successful, but they are trying... I can't even be certain what host they are looking for. It doesn't not feel to be human... I sense it may be an interdimensional being or something this is not of this 3D world...??? I have an ever stronger sense that the evil of this 3D world are trying to harness the evil beings in a different density and control them via this AI interlink. This isn't good and feels to be very nefarious!
And that is all I have for they reading. Pray they Do NOT succeed in this.

I am trying to figure out the geographical extent of this phenomenon.
Is there some kind of facility nearby that could be the source for this?

This makes me wonder... Those scientists who created this, are they also under influence of AI, or are they simply unaware of the consequences of what they're doing? I doubt that someone would voluntarily create something like this.

@enlightened one: I think with enough money and the ego of creating it, all things are possible. They could be somewhat AI, but I think the greed is the bigger part.
Lynn best I could find is this video he seems to think it’s a guy on a jet back to me looks like a long black goo tube morphing. But, like you said hard to find anything about it online now. It’s a big plot line in all the Alien series movies.

Enlightened one I am located in Kansas so who knows what they could be playing with here I had a friend who lives in Missouri see it over his farm as well. So not very highly populated areas they seem to test it over.
This sounds like the venom symbiote from marvel comics, a parasitic alien that's like a black goo that hunts hosts and controls them.
How does one protect themselves?
I remember years ago watching youtube videos of Harald Kautz-Vella talking in depth about black goo. He REALLY knows a lot about the subject.
Black goo was first discovered by British scientists in the Falkland Islands around the time of the war there in 1982. Some years later 21 different Marconi scientists ALL perished in extremely unlikely and suspicious ‘suicides’. It is now widely believed these poor scientists were all killed to keep the secret of the black goo. You can Google The Marconi 21 easily.
