Is this a 411 Situation?

Q.  Hi Lynn, I was wondering if you could look at another mystery for me. A man named Mel Waters who had property in Manastash Ridge, west of Ellensburg in Washington, came forward on the popular radio program.  It was called Coast To Coast and he was talking about a strange hole on his property which had many strange occurrences. The stories are so strange it becomes hard to believe but there are three things that make me think something interesting was happening. 

One, Mel said that military had taken over his property.  Two, Mel Waters never asked for money/favors from anyone at any time. And Three, probably the best evidence was a program called Terraserver.  It's a program like google maps but predates it.  It showed Mel's private property area completely blacked out. (I also personally checked this program out in the early 2000s and it was still blacked out at that time.) 

So was something going on or was this someone just looking for their 15 minutes of fame? (Here is a link talking about this https://youtu.be/Z8SjYMTL7zA).

A.  The first thing I want to focus on is if this is a legitimate claim, or was this a tall tale to get some fame on a popular talk show.

As I focus on it, I get this hole is there, but the story may have been slightly embellished.  I see there was a larger hole, somewhat like a well.  The circumference/diameter was larger than a normal well, and it was lined with stone.  It is coming to me that this is an ancient handmade water well.  I get this water well was made for a whole community versus just an individual, hence the size.  I see that the water table in this area is somewhat low, so the depth had to be pretty great as they dug it out.

I get it could easily go a few hundred feet deep.  I see that if you were to look around the area, there would be a hooved mound or the well itself was slightly hooved from the dirt displaced.  The upper ring of the well looks to have had some repair as future generations used the well and natural eroding occurred.  I sense there is a difference in the rock material that lined the hole if you were to observe and analyze the sides.

I also get if you were to look at the walls, you would see where some kind of device was implanted that enabled people to climb into the well should they need to.  I get it was an imprint in the rock, or some kind of hand hold.  I wouldn't call the well magical, but I do get the water contained some healing minerals.  

I get the military took it over to investigate it, but then didn't do anything with it.  They used the excuse they needed it for research, but I don't get they ever found anything in regards to ET/UFO activity.
