Why is this?? It is because it creates an internal conflict. You may know something is not human, but the human reactions throw you off. Knowing something isn't human can also make a person question how it will react. Will the program go bad and create a RoboCop reaction? Will it attack like a wild animal? Who or what is really in charge? These "things" have no conscience, no morals, no ethics- just a program ran by the programmer.
The Powers That Were want a controllable army.so I see a huge push for AI, Robotics, etc. They are also pushing a creating a society that is making having healthy, lasting relationships difficult. Rather than teach communication and relationship skills, they further create the divide with false expectations and reasons to be offended. Looks fade, but can you cook s meal, read a recipe, work on a car, fix a leak, care for children, do things that create balance for each other, etc? Creating robot humans will be their solution. They will push people to have relationships with robots and not people because it is easier (if the person is lonely enough to go along with this).
Yes, there is an uncanny valley effect and a reason for it.

There's a natural fascination over the ability to create a life-like robot that goes back to the Disney animatronics of the '60s. But as technology advances, this uncanny valley effect is really people's repugnance to the anti-humanistic threat these more advanced robots pose, almost like viewing them as another species ready to replace us.
ReplyDeleteMusk came out with "Star link" which reminds me of the Terminator movie's "Skynet" where AI controlled all humanity. Maybe the Jetsons had the right idea having their metal house maid Rosie look like a '50's sci-fi robot.

@Lynn: Just want to say I am glad you have been highlighting Robots/A.I. a little more lately. I strongly believe this is this direction they want us to go towards, Transhumanism. Their old gods have left them and there new "partner" is a very powerful A.I.
ReplyDeleteThe good news is that the Universe is helping us out by making the more organic powers of the universe more accessible if we are willing to discover and use them. Humans are becoming more powerful, they are afraid of this and are trying to stop or slow this down with technology.
