A. As I focus on this, I get they are setting us up for an economic crash. In the past these reserves were used as security in times of war so we would not be dependent on anyone. Now that the surplus is dwindling, they are making us very vulnerable and also creating another surge of inflation by impacting supply/demand. If we cannot get goods we need, or afford what we need, they will try to force us to need them (them being the government). Basically create the problem so they can be the solution. 
This is also a further attack on farmers and truckers. These people need this fuel to supply food and goods. If you control this aspect of a country then you can control the country. Watch for food shortages in the upcoming days, weeks and months.
Make no mistake, they are determined to push things to go "green" even though "green" isn't "green." I hear to look at the landscape of an area devastated by extracting the materials to make batteries. Batteries, solar equipment, etc also end up in landfills seemingly forever as items are decommissioned or technology improves and things are phased out and tossed. I hear the only thing "green" in this whole agenda is the money being made.
OPEN THE PIPELINES and SAVE this country!

Where I live, the price of gas has gone down to $3.20 while Diesel remains around $5, so they lowered gas for the election but the diesel is more reflective of its real cost. It's too bad Americans don't stand up against fake elections and fake media like the Brazilians are doing now.

I like the last part you wrote, about the only thing being green is actually the money made.
