Animals and the Zodiac

Q.  Are domesticated animals like dogs affected by their zodiac, their time of birth and even birth order?  They are all born at roughly the same time or within minutes of each other.

A.  As I focus on this, I get the majority of a pets personality comes from their genes (breed)  and genetic disposition as well as their experience when they enter the world.  You may have a pet with great genes that was abused and they are great or a pet with great genes that is abused and they develop traumas.  II see the genes being just one variable.

Zodiac plays some role, as does birth order, but doesn't feel to have a huge impact.  If you are looking for a great pet, think about your needs and find a breed that matches those needs.  Then look for one that has a mom and dad with characteristics you like (if you are able to know the mom and dad).  Lastly, understand the pet's history to see if there are concerns you need to work through (fears, traumas).  Doing all this will help you get a more full picture of the pet and the personality you are adopting.

Each pet is as unique as a person, and each pet has an owner out there to compliment their needs.

My personal story (that I love to share)... We were seeking out a dog, but weren't sure what we wanted.  I had looked and thought I would want a Doodle since they were hypoallergenic, but ideally wanted to rescue a dog.  At the same time we were doing our search a neighbor had a Boxer they could no longer keep because they lived on a busy road and were worried he would get loose.  This dog had actually ran away from an abusive situation (neglect, physical abuse, left alone, etc) so returning it to the original owner who did not even want him was not an option.

We decided to open our home to him.  I knew very little about Boxers accept for they were very intelligent, loved their families, loyal and were great with kids.  They have great genes (overall) so we took a risk.  In a short time we knew he was afraid of the dark and he didn't like to be alone (trauma from his past).  Regardless of that, which was not an issue for us, we couldn't be happier and our Boxer, Odin is very loved.

In the end, do your research on the breed and just spend time with your pet.  You will get a good glimpse of their personality that stems mostly from their lineage (breed) and their treatment.

And that is all I have for this reading.  If you have a story you'd like to share, please leave a comment below.

Love and light, Lynn

So happy to hear about your new family member, Lynn. Sometimes it's the pet that finds the the people. A little cat came to our door 33 years ago a year before our first child was born and now our daughter just recently found a new born kitten in the bushes next to the car where she had parked. Destiny.

I suspect astrology influences the personality of our animal companions. Our Aquarius cat is sociable to new humans, but doesn't like being touched so much.

As to genes, the said cat likes to lick clean the underarms of humans. She eventually gave birth to a litter. All three of her babies also grew up to gravitate to smelly underarms to clean them out. 🤣 There's another cat here they aren't related with, and he never does this despite seeing it all the time, so this isn't something imitated.

Odin is completely adorable. 🥺
