I love the name Jasper - it's one of my most favourite gemstones, and I even named my tabby cat after it.
Your kids have probably been inspired by children's tv shows. They often open and show letters on camera that they've received from viewers. Such as drawings, pictures and similar. Never the less, could be an interesting addition to your blog. There is something special with real, physical "snail mail", although most people nowadays don't take the time to write them. It's much more important checking Facebook for new likes.
