A. As I focus on this curious case I get the whole time she was extorting money and committing fraud she was thinking of a contingency plan. As I tune into her logic and way of thinking, I get she somehow knew it was a matter of time before she would be caught, and when she was she would disappear. She wasn't exactly sure if she was run away, assume a new identity or fake her death, but she knew she didn't have the mental and emotional stamina to survive trail and certain prison time. 
During this several year scheme I see she had an affair. The man she was seeing begged her to leave her husband to be with him. He was absolutely loyal to Melissa, and she felt that she could have ultimate trust in him. This man was fully aware of what she was doing and said he would help her escape. They even hypothesized different scenarios of things they could do. She had the foresight to hide money in overseas accounts under an assumed name and referred to it as her "contingency money."
When her house was raided I get that she went into panic mode. She plotted with her lover how to get away and what to do. Fear came over her, and see was desperate. So desperate that she was willing to do something drastic. It was then that the plan was created and put into action.
I see that her lover knew of a veterinarian that would be able to amputate her foot. It wasn't pretty, but he was able to accomplish the task in exchange for a healthy sum of money. The evidence of the boot and foot were then planted. I see her watching the news and just waiting and hoping for the discovery on the beach. It was a HUGE relief once the discovery was announced.
I get that she has completely changed her look. Her hair is different, weight is different and she is walking with a cane. She was able to get a prosthetic, but still has a noticeable limp. Her lover and her are still together and have secret "rendezvous."
In her free time she looks to be writing a memoir. I get either later in life or even one day when she passes it will be released. Even though living in somewhat fear of being found, she still has the urge to share her story and what she pulled off.

More and more life seems to be imitating some of the crazier movies. The first first thing that I thought of was the Cohen movie The Great Lebowski, in which a cut off toe of the missing young trophy wife was sent to the husband to get a million dollar ransom, but it ended up being the toe of another woman in a gang doing a fake ransom for the money. I guess with DNA tests these days you can't use a substitute.
I have no respect for this type of scammers of people's hard-earned money. What she did was a Ponzi scheme, I hope she gets caught one day and return all the money that she cheated from others

Hi Lynn, this was a good reading, very interesting. I'm wondering if you would do the case on Adnan Syed, he was just released today after over 20 years in prison. Did he commit the crime? If not him then what really happened to his high school girlfriend? (I will also add this to your blog request list)
@xoxo luxe, I have used my intuition and perception , previously to look into this case with a clean slate.
Unfortunately because of the socio- political and cultural waves we are riding he was released because of this political correctness and now that he has converted to a fundamentalist Islam just adds to the zeal is some willing to support him.
Furthermore what I did pick up was that adman went through a rebellious phase and where drugs were being used and had toxic friends and behaviors. Among the thing that went on in this phase was exploring his sexuality. The girlfriend caught him in something and questioned and confronted. His culture would not tolerate that type of thing and in the ensuing fight something happened where she lost her life.

It wouldn't be too hard to set sail to Asia somewhere ... I don't think all the stolen money was accounted for, and I have never felt she faked her death. No way.
She might even have set sail to NZ ... if I see her, I will absolutely let you know!
It's sad for her son, brother and parents - and of course her partner - who've all been left behind in the dust. Such a cruel woman.
