Nine-year-old Quaden Bayles is the indigenous Australian suffering from dwarfism whose mother posted a video of him crying after being bullied. His plight captured global attention, and he was the star of a recent All-star rugby league match, leading the players into the field.
However, there is much speculation that his mother coached him on the video. The language and phrasing seem particularly specific, far beyond the vocabulary of a nine-year-old. Another video has emerged of him on a political rant, one very much in line with the Marxist/ identity politics of the modern left. A nine-year-old cannot form these views independently.
What do you see? Has sympathy been weaponized? Is young Quaden a genuine victim, or is he a pawn in his mum’s quest for attention?
