Q. I understand that people live their lives to learn lessons and raise their vibration.
Maybe it is just my perception, but many times we read that people were famous, successful engineers, or entertainers in this life and return to the next life living a similar life. But how often do people live their life as a police officer, then return as a farmer and the next life is a homeless person or a politician? Do people return and live completely different lives, or do they live the same lives many times over? Do you retain the same qualities in successive lives? Police officers help people, but so do nurses and psychologists. Does the pattern of helping others repeat itself?
A. When I tune into this, I see that when we are in spirit we decide, with the help of our guides, what life we will live. We chose where we will be born, our parents, and what lessons we will learn.
As a soul, we have residual memories and things we are drawn to from past lives. These residual emotions work in harmony with your predetermined life lessons and tend to surface as themes in your life, and even future lives (most times).
I hear to ask yourself, "Why are you drawn to a specific career, hobby or interest?" If it was for money, then you may subconsciously seek out jobs with a higher salary, and that will emerge as your "theme." If you have an analytical mind, you could be drawn to engineering in this life, but maybe a researcher in the next- different career, similar "theme." Maybe the farmer wanted to live a simple life off the land in this life experience, and experienced the same theme as a homeless person in the next life.
Residual karma also plays a role. For example, say you are a business person that makes dirty deals and people are harmed in this life. You are a good negotiator, but also have a selfish interest in your decisions. In the next life, you may find yourself also as a good talker (even a successful conman), but maybe you develop a gambling problem and end up losing everything and you are harmed by your actions (a lesson experienced for this behavior). There is a "high-vibe" and "low-vibe" experience for every "theme" you chose to pursue.
I see a lot of variables at play, and realize the Universe creates opportunity for learning and growth, but also has to work in balance. The Universe truly does work in mysterious ways, and it isn't always clear how it will work out.

In order to reach the highest levels of vibration and not return, do you have to have a prior life as a religious leader, or is it based on the values and lessons you learned from your previous lives without respect to your profession?
Is Karma and past lives specific to Earth or do life forms on other planets have multiple lives as well?

Who determines whether we have learned our lesson in a certain life and can move up to a higher vibration or we haven't learned our lesson yet and have to repeat the lesson in a future life?
Is there a master spirit guide/teacher that gives us a certificate whether we have passed or failed our test (like the teachers in our schools).
Alternatively, are there spiritual laws in place that will change our vibration level automatically like physical laws such as Newton's laws of motion?
@Raymond: Everything is based on all your cumulative lessons and experiences. You profession doesn't really matter (but could open the opportunity to help you achieve a lesson).
Karma ties to all lives. Everything tries to work in balance.

@Alex: Interesting question. I get that everything roots back to Source. The "graduation" would be an elevated vibration within our being. And yes, vibrations can fluctuate, but generally stay in similar ranges until you do a larger "upgrade."

Our souls can be reborn as ET or human or animal, it's not specific to Earth. Some ETs are higher in vibration whereas some are lower in vibration.
Speaking of vibrations........instead of having a dating site like Eharmony or Match.com......how about a dating site that matches your personal rate of vibration with someone similar?
I guess that is too far in the future, but the results would be interesting.
I don't buy that story I think the Lords of Karma can trick you ! they do not want any body
to be a thorn in their toe . ,, so you forget when you go thru the tunnel of light & then remember just enough to decide on A HARD crappy life to amend karma , sure right.. there are many dark overlords above us in and around planet earth to see
we do not escape or wake others up. i also think we(humans) should live to 200 years old
we die at 100 or less so we don't figure things out ,, they burnt that longevity off our DNA long ago... those few humans on the planet who are awake now are constantly under attack and must protect them selves ..24/7
Hi Lynn, after what I've experienced and seen, I don't want to come back. Will the guides coerce me into coming back? ...and could you please tell me if I can just be a free spirit, and zip out into the Cosmos to find my true planet. I've had quite enough of the prison planet..

Given a choice, most of us won't want to come back to Earth. However, most of us don't have a choice, regardless of what some people said who think that spiritual realm is a nice place to live.
That's because the lower spiritual dimension (so-called hell) isn't a pretty place to live. The only way is come back to Earth, learn your life lessons, balance your karma and then go back to a higher dimension. You live in the dimension of spiritual planes according to your soul level.

Some of us do re-live the same life if we haven't learnt the lessons that we were meant to learn in that life. However, if you have already learnt that lesson, there's no need to repeat the same lesson for your soul to progress. The soul needs new experiences for it to progress further to other lessons.
