Elderberry syrup is a simple, natural addition to your wellness routine. Have you tried it yet? If so what is your experience? I found myself making some this week to prepare for what is to come, and wanted to share my recipe:
- 2/3 Cup dried black elderberries
- 3 1/2 cups of water
- 2 T fresh or dried ginger
- 1 t cinnamon powder
- 1/2 t cloves or clove powder
- 1 Cup raw honey
1. Pour water into medium saucepan along with all the other ingredients EXCEPT honey
2. Bring to boil and then cover and simmer until it reduces (about 30-40 minutes)
3. Mash the elderberries in a glass bowl or jar
4. Discard the elderberries (or compost). Once cooled add the honey.
5. Take 1 teaspoon daily to boost immunity. If feeling ill, take 1 teaspoon 3x a day.
