A. This is an important question that a lot of people want to know and ask about.
I have always seen that when we pass we have options. There really are no "rules" as the options depend on a variety of things. I see it more like a flow-chart, with very blurry lines as things can overlap too.
Part of your choice depends on what you WANT to do. Do you want to stay and guide/protect people and loved ones? Do you feel you have something unfinished you want to see completed? Do you have trauma tied to the life you just left and moving on doesn't feel right? There are many reasons that a person may want to stay close or tethered to the 3D world they just left.
Should you want to progress, and move forward, you may still chose to guide. You have the option to align with Source, and allow him to work through you. Not because you feel you need to, but because that is how you feel you are best served (by serving others and helping them in their greater good). You may chose to ascend as much as you can in spirit versus the 3D, and reside in the spirit plane for a while.
If you chose to reincarnate into a physical being, and your vibration is low, you will only have the option of going to the 3D because your physical system will not be able to handle anything more for any period of time. It would be very difficult to escape the wiping because your level of ascension makes it challenging to have the ability to expand thought and bypass any part of the tunnel with it's memory wipe.
The people with a higher vibration, either though ascension, self-development, higher self-actualization, life expansion through experience, etc will have the most choices. Choosing to incarnate to a 4D existence looks to avoid the Archon tunnel completely.
It is possible that a person chooses in spirit that they want to come back to the 3D to physically guide, protect, learn or experience something that cannot be done elsewhere. In this case, to avoid the wiping, I hear them making a noise (or vibration) that is so high and shrill it looks to make beings react like a dog would to a dog whistle. This vibration serves as a shield and defense to the Archons.
In the end, you can stay in spirit or chose to move on. Should you go to the 4D, you can experience life in an elevated vibration. If you need to come back to 3D, mentally prepare for how to manipulate the tunnel so you have the ability to recall memories and residual DNA easier.

Awesome, thank you very much for doing a reading on this. I've read of a prison field around earth. Does everyone has the choice to escape the field?

The so-called prison field is a physical field around the earth called firmament. You are confused between the tunnel of light and the firmament. The tunnel of light is for spirits after they have passed away. The firmament is for physical living humans trying to escape to outer space.
@mycale: Yes, everyone can escape it in spirit. We do have choices when we pass. You will not feel trapped.
@Alex: Yes, that is a good explanation. The firmament is related to our psychical self, the tunnel of light is an obstacle that we have choices in how to handle.

- you mean the Tunnel of Light to 4D existence will not wipe out our memory?

I, once, screamed (or shrieked) so loud after a passing-by molester and I chased after him. We both were on bicycle. I guess that I was infuriated by his intention, even though he didn’t manage to grope where he wanted to. He was taken aback by my fury, that he rode faster and out of my reach.

@Hope: Yes, I didn't see the tunnel as much in the 4D. This felt like a construct of the 3D world. Spirits don't have a sense of time, but ones that stay look to somehow ground and be in sync with earth. The "feeling" they look to have is one of being in a constant meditation (if that makes sense?) The noise was something that reminded me of an opera singer on the highest note. It wasn't like a scream, but rather pleasant to the ear, but VERY high.

@Milk,No Sugar: Even people that do bad things are in some ways supposed to live that life and either learn from it, or help others they connected with. That was a hard concept to learn, but when they pass they still have some choices, and karma could really play into what choices they have. Every situation truly is unique.
