Q. Hi Lynn- This could be a very interesting reading.
The Australian federal elections are on May 18th and the left wing Labor party are ahead in all pre-polling. The current government is the right wing Liberal/ National coalition party and they have delivered a budget surplus for the first time in 10 years. The Labor party is proposing a range of taxes to fund election promises, however they will not disclose the cost to the economy of ambitious policy platforms. The Labor party will also be raising taxes on self funded retirees that pose no burden to the social security system. Will the Labor party win or will the electorate reward the LNP coalition’s typically sound economic management and give them another term?
