What’s in store for the month of January? Oh not much, just a lot of fire and 2 eclipses.
January greets us with a partial solar eclipse on January 6th, in the sign of Capricorn. This asks you to be mindful of being practical as you go about your day to day activities. Being productive and efficient has its rewards for long term plans. Be centered and grounded in spite of distractions.
Mars transiting through Aires will take the foot off the brakes and inject some energy to move forward. It’s good support to accomplish what one sets out to do. This is a great time for men to channel their inner warrior in situations where it is warranted or get in touch with their innermost masculine side.
Jupiter’s continuing transit in fiery Sagittarius asks us to take a closer look at our belief and philosophical systems. It’s a powerful time for Jupiter since it rules Sagittarius and it’s been over 10 years since it has been in its home sign. This transit makes it conducive to expanding one’s horizon. Have you been wanting to take a workshop/class or take a long trip somewhere? It may facilitate opportunities to widen one’s perspective.
Mercury ‘s transit through Capricorn helps one be focused on the task at hand. Channel the inner leader in yourself in meetings or in other situations where you will have opportunities to communicate your ideas or needs efficiently and directly. It’s a good time for any projects that require focused concentration.
The week of January 20th will be fueled with fire signs of Aires, Leo, and Sagittarius as well as include a lunar eclipse.

- The transit of Mars in Aires will be supported by both transiting Jupiter and Venus in Sagittarius. Use that energy creatively to get out of a funk. Dance. Do yoga. Finish that project that you have been putting off. Keep in mind that you may find yourself feeing hampered or experience some blocks due to the Saturn transit in a challenging position to Mars at that time. It’s good to remember to think things out through before rushing into anything.
- We may see an increase of sexual energies and flirtation. Be practical and don’t rush forward. Neptune in Pisces is in a challenging aspect during the Venus and Jupiter conjunction in Sagittarius and there may be some confusion, misunderstandings or lack of clarity in areas of finances, romance and self-worth.
- The lunar eclipse in Leo shines light on areas such as creativity, passion, children, and self- sovereignty. The full moon is a time of releasing and purging aspects in those areas that no longer serve you for the highest good.
Uranus turns direct in January and is finishing its transit in Aires. This planet is associated with the unusual, unpredictable, future-oriented, and humanitarian energies. This is prime time for “outside of the box” ideas, innovativeness, and even divine inspiration to occur.
Saturn and Pluto continue their journey in Capricorn. This energy is manifesting as a deconstruction of structures and frameworks that may have outlived their intended use. Examples of this are organizations such as governments and/or corporations. The universe is calling for a makeover. The Solar eclipse in early January will shine light on these areas.
Remember that instead of misusing energies that may be filled with anxieties, hate, and anger; transmute them to compassion and love . Then send those energies to the places of “power” so they may receive wisdom and guidance. There is no better time than to request a down ray of love-light wisdom from the ethereal realms to transform and purify what is all around us. Your thoughts and energy have power! Keep in mind that this doesn’t excuse us from getting out there and put action behind your thoughts and words. Take a step and ACT in your local community (Mars in Aires) and make a difference.

It looks like we're heading for a US government shutdown this evening, only several days before Christmas. The US stock market plunged nearly 500 points yesterday. More volatility is expected in the days ahead because of the shutdown and other political factors. Is this the beginning of a severe economic correction that you were seeing over the years (you said you kept seeing Christmas trees, which to you suggested the downturn would begin around Christmas time)?
@Jerry: You are right. I do always see Xmas trees with regard to the market. I don't see this being the final drop (even though we are taking a HUGE hit). It will come back once they get the budget approved. Give it a few weeks to work through this mess...
